Students at our university's Faculty of Education expand their own knowledge of education, childcare, and welfare.I will participate in a global study to deepen my previous learning and gain new insights. One of these programs is to provide learning support at elementary schools in Cambodia.
The purpose of this activity is for students to learn about cultural and historical backgrounds and educational circumstances that are different from Japan, and to practice contribution activities that students can do based on these learnings, with the aim of further personal growth.
The students heading to Cambodia from mid-February are preparing for lessons to be held at local elementary schools. The students are learning about arithmetic, language, and communication through Cambodian language during mock lessons for first to fourth grade elementary school students. I am repeating my practice on how to do this.At the same time, we have started to interact with students from Norton University, a partner university in Cambodia, and are deepening our understanding of different cultures and learning the importance of having an international perspective.
Although the students are nervous about this new experience, they are looking forward to the day they can go there. Global studies will be a valuable opportunity for them not only to hone their professional skills, but also to acquire foundational knowledge through encounters with different cultures and promote self-growth.
