[Faculty of Education] Service learning: "The issue of eating alone and poverty as seen through children's cafeterias" Children's cafeteria held on campus!

On Tuesday, August 8th, a Disaster Prevention Children's Cafeteria was held at the Kansai International University Amagasaki Campus!
Thank you to everyone who came on the day.

This activity was prepared and managed by students enrolled in the Department of Education and Welfare's service learning program's class "The Issue of Eating Alone and Poverty from the Perspective of Children's Cafeterias."

As part of the "Disaster Prevention Children's Cafeteria," we all ate beef sukiyaki rice bowls while explaining how to make instant rice, the need for disaster preparedness and rolling stock in a quiz format that was easy for the children to understand.

This time at the Children's Cafeteria, we were trying to help children with their summer vacation homework, so many friends had their homework checked by their older college students!

The children said, "I was so happy that I was able to finish my homework so quickly!" and "It was fun playing, and the food was delicious."
We received many positive comments from the parents, such as, "Thank you for having fun playing with my child," "It was my first time eating instant rice and it was delicious," and "If you adjust the amount of hot water, I think it can also be made into porridge that is easy for children to eat."

We would like to thank Food Bank Kobe and Amagasaki City for providing us with the ingredients.
The next Children's Cafeteria will be held on Thursday, August 8nd and Saturday, September 22th (location: Kansai International University Amagasaki Campus, starting at 9am, first 14 people, no registration required).
