"Reiwa"6We planned and exhibited at the "Student Plaza" run by a group of high school and university students who received funding from the 2017 Amagasaki City Human Resource Development Support Project to Cultivate Mutual Support, with the theme of creating a corner where people could have fun while learning.

In the morning, the library club set up a "food education event booth."

This event aims to get people interested in food through picture storytelling, large picture books, karuta cards, and origami.

In particular, the cute "food education karuta" cards handmade by the students were a big hit with the children!

In the afternoon, students from the local disaster prevention club Chibo set up a "disaster prevention name tag making booth."

A "disaster prevention name tag" is like a "lost child card" that is useful in the event of a disaster, and contains the child's name, address, guardian's name, contact information, etc. If a child has a "disaster prevention name tag," there is a higher chance that people around them will be able to help them and confirm their safety even if they get separated from their parents.

This time, we used a waterproof smartphone case, put a name tag inside, and made it so that it could be hung around the neck. The students devised a way to make it fun for even small children, and together they made their own "personal disaster prevention name tag" decorated with stickers and pens.

Thank you to everyone who came on the day.

In preparing for the exhibit, the students worked together to think about how they could give children a fun opportunity to experience food education and disaster prevention. On the day, it seemed like a great experience for the students to have so many children enjoy themselves.
