On Wednesday, July 2025, 7, an open lecture commemorating the establishment of the Faculty of Global Studies, "America under the Trump Administration," was held in a hybrid format at the KOBE Co CREATION CENTER and via Zoom.
The lecturer, Professor Yosuke Watanabe (Dean of the School of Global Studies at our university), covered the first Trump administration as the New York bureau chief of Kyodo News. He gave an easy-to-understand talk about the background to the birth of the Trump administration and the current state of America, using actual examples.

After the lecture there was an active question and answer session, with participants sharing comments such as, "I was able to learn about local information from a journalist's perspective," "I thought the explanation was very easy to understand," "I was able to learn about a world that I don't usually pay attention to and it changed my perspective," and "I think the current state of the United States is a mirror that reflects Japan's future," making it a worthwhile session that deepened their understanding of society and international affairs.

We will continue to cover topics that are of great interest to you and create opportunities for learning.
