Open Campus held on Sunday, August 24th (Miki Campus, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences)

August 202524We held an open campus on Sunday.

Despite the extremely hot weather, many people came to the event. Thank you very much.

In addition to introducing departments and explaining entrance exams, this open campus also included an information session on the Kita-Harima General Medical Center.

Our university has established a collaborative relationship with the Kita-Harima General Medical Center, the central hospital for the Kita-Harima region of Hyogo Prefecture. In addition to providing practical training at the Kita-Harima General Medical Center, which is equipped with the latest facilities, we also invite lecturers from the medical center to give lectures.

<Kita Harima General Medical Center Information Session>

We invited staff and nurses (graduates) from Kita Harima General Medical Center to hold an information session. The staff gave an overview of Kita Harima General Medical Center, while the graduates spoke about "what made them happy while caring for patients" and "a message to those who want to become nurses."

<Entrance Exam Guidance>

There was an explanation of the key points of each entrance exam and how to take the exam.

<Trial lesson>

Adult Acute Nursing "Let's experience emergency nursing" Students experienced observations using their own bodies and simulators. Checking pupil light reflex, auscultation of lung sounds,SpO2Measurements were taken, pulses were taken, and blood pressure was measured.

How did you feel when you heard and saw sounds that you don't normally hear? Nurses gather this information and consider what is happening inside the body as they provide care.

<Trial Lesson 2>

Gerontological Nursing "Gerontological Nursing Begins with the Hands"

The participants wore goggles, earplugs, and work gloves and participated in an "elderly experience" where they folded origami and read.

We also had them try out a hand massage using hand cream, while imagining gentle nursing that involves "feeling," "touching," and "being there." Human touch actually has a variety of benefits. Were you able to feel this?

Pediatric Nursing "Let's all work together to prevent child accidents"

We asked the participants to wear Child Vision and walk around the library looking for a hidden doll. What was the world that the children saw? Through this experience, we asked them to think about what a safe environment is for children.

<How to write a reason for applying>

Students will be given an explanation of how to write a statement of purpose, which will also serve as preparation for entrance exams, and those who wish to do so will be able to write it themselves and receive advice from faculty members.

<Student Project>

Nurse Challenge! Support your loved ones with words of encouragement!

In fact, this event was planned from scratch by the students, but there were no visitors, and the students who had prepared it were disappointed.

We hope that the next time visitors will be able to participate, the open campus staff will think about it together and make it possible for everyone to experience the important projects that the students have come up with. Many of the contents of our university's open campus were originally conceived by students, and we value their hard work. For those of you who are planning to visit in the future, please be sure to take part in the student-planned experiences and events.

The temperature and humidity were so high that day that we were worried that some people might become ill, but the visitors, students, faculty and staff all looked out for each other and participated, and the event went ahead without any major issues.

Thank you to everyone who participated.

The next open campus will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd (national holiday).

We look forward to seeing you.
