On Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Suwayama Festival held at the Kobe Yamate Campus, Yabu City, which has concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement with our university,A booth promoting local specialties and tourism was set up.
On the day, the Yabu City Commerce and Tourism Department preparedWe sold products using Asakura Sansho, one of the local brand products, and promoted tourist attractions.
The booth was lined with attractive products using Asakura sansho pepper, such as "Tajima Yuzu Sansho," "Asakura Sansho Oil," "Asakura Sansho Dried Chirimen," and "Asakura Sansho Curry," and samples of "Asakura Sansho Syrup for Adults" were also available for sale. The samples, which were served by international students involved in the collaborative project, were enjoyed by many visitors to the booth, who commented that "it has a delicious sansho aroma."

We also conducted a survey about the attractions of Yabu City, with approximately 30 people answering questions about "things they would like to experience," "foods they would like to eat," and "events they would like to participate in" in Yabu City. The Yabu City Coordinator for International Relations also gave explanations about the events and shops, allowing visitors to learn about the attractions of Yabu City.
Our university signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Yabu City in July 2024, and last year in February, four international students participated in a monitor tour to investigate tourist resources. This year, the international students are continuing their efforts to promote the appeal of Yabu City from an international perspective through their interactions with the local community.
The stall at this year's Suwayama Festival is a collaboration based on an agreement. As part of this, it was a valuable opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and local residents to feel closer to Yabu City.
We hope that this initiative will spark interest among many people in "Yabu City, a place I'd like to visit" and "Yabu City's specialty products, a place I'd like to try."
Thank you very much to everyone at Yabu City's Commerce, Industry and Tourism Department for setting up a stall.
