Speeches from the Outstanding Achievement Award winners

Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences1Years Mayu Kume

I am extremely happy to receive this honorable award for outstanding academic performance. Studying in the nursing department was all new to me, and I had many concerns about my academics and relationships, but I believe that this is the result of my diligent efforts to attend classes and submit assignments. I am also truly grateful for the support of my family, who live far away. In the future, I would like to interact with many people through extracurricular activities such as volunteering and part-time work, gain rich experiences, and work hard to achieve further positive results.

Faculty of Business Administration Department of Business Administration2Year Fan  Thi Ngoc  Gar-san

I am truly happy and grateful to have received the Learning Encouragement Award. When my name was called and I received the certificate, I felt as if all my hard work had paid off and I was overwhelmed with emotion. Since coming to Japan, I have struggled with the language barrier and differences in lifestyle, but I am so glad that I never gave up and kept moving forward little by little. It is only thanks to the guidance of my teachers and the support of my friends that I have been able to work so hard. Receiving this award is a great encouragement to me and motivates me to continue learning. I will continue to keep my original intentions in mind, work even harder, and strive to achieve my dream of growing in the field of marketing and becoming a bridge between Japan and Vietnam.

Faculty of Global Communication, Department of Global Communication2Years Amidatul IzzahSan

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for receiving the Excellence Award. This award is a great encouragement, as it shows that my daily efforts have been realized. It also serves as a reminder of my responsibility to continue my studies. In fact, when I received this award last time, I was so filled with gratitude that I set a goal for myself: "I want to work hard to receive this award every semester." Achieving that goal this time has given me great confidence and motivated me to continue growing. At the award ceremony, the president of the university told me, "I hope that you will not only achieve excellent grades, but also that through your various experiences, you will have something to share and convey to others." This message made me feel strongly that I want to cultivate perspectives and values that only I can express through my life and studies as an international student. University life in Japan has been challenging, not only in my studies, but also in my daily life and part-time job. Balancing my studies, part-time work, and other commitments was extremely difficult, and at times I felt like giving up. However, I believe that I have been able to persevere to this point only thanks to the support of my teachers, friends, and family who cheered me on from afar. I would like to continue to take on challenges with a broader perspective and a positive attitude, while making use of my own experiences.

Faculty of Global Studies, Department of Global Studies1Year: Yuyu Kawabata

I am extremely happy and honored to receive this award for outstanding academic performance. When I first enrolled, I struggled to balance my school life with my daily life, but I worked hard despite that and am truly grateful to have been recognized in this way. My department, the Faculty of Global Studies, started this year, and I would like to put even more effort into my studies so that our efforts and attitudes can serve as a model for the younger students who will be enrolling in the future. I will continue to keep my gratitude and curiosity in mind, and cherish the attitude of continuing to learn with enjoyment, like a scholar.

Acceptance speech from the Extracurricular Activity Award winner

Taketo Tanaka, third-year student on the baseball team

I feel extremely happy to be selected as one of the Best Nine players in the outfield division of the spring league, as it shows that my efforts to date have been recognized. I focused on batting consistency in each game and on defense, concentrating on each hit. I believe these efforts have paid off. My future goal is to become a player who can contribute to the team's victory. Rather than being satisfied with individual performance, I want to hone my play so that I can inspire my teammates and change the flow of the game. In particular, I want to improve my base-running judgment and my ability to adapt at the plate, aiming to become a player who can produce results in any situation. Academically, balancing practice and schoolwork is a future challenge. I will strive to create an efficient study plan within the limited time available and deepen my understanding of the course content. I hope to make this a year in which I can feel a sense of growth both athletically and academically.
