Professor Shimizu Michiko, who studies housemaids, was interviewed by the magazine "Weekly Josei." Regarding the protagonist of "Bakeke," Matsuno Toki, becoming a housemaid at the home of English teacher Heaven, she explained the situation at the time, saying, "Cases like Toki's were extremely rare, and it was not common for a young woman to live in a man's house."
