On Tuesday, December 2nd, the 2025 disaster prevention and evacuation drill was conducted at our Kobe Yamate Campus.
This year's training included an evacuation drill simulating a fire in Building 2, and firefighting drills using water extinguishers in Buildings 1 and 3. Faculty, staff, students, and on-site security guards participated in the evacuation and firefighting training. The international students, who were experiencing firefighting drills for the first time, listened attentively to an explanation of how to operate the fire extinguishers and tried out how to use them.
In the post-drill evaluation, the trainees were advised, "Today is a drill, so we are mentally prepared, but we don't know when a real disaster will occur. The experience of this drill will be useful when a real disaster occurs." We will continue to strengthen our disaster prevention measures by utilizing the knowledge gained from this evacuation drill, and strive to create a safe and secure campus.
