Kansai International University, together with Josai International University, Kyushu International University, and Sapporo International University, forms the International University Future Network (CoIN).

On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the "Student Regional Future Co-creation Idea Contest," sponsored by the International University Future Network, was held at Josai International University's Kioicho Campus, and our university's representative took first place.
This contest is a forum for students to compete with innovative ideas for solving local issues and promoting their appeal from a global perspective in a rapidly changing society.

From Kansai University of International Studies, Asuka Uchida (4th year, Department of Tourism, Faculty of International Communication), who was selected as the university's representative after an internal selection process, presented a concrete proposal for co-creation activities that utilize local resources. Her proposal was highly praised by the judges for its feasibility and the significant impact it would have on the local area.
On the day, a special lecture entitled "Hints for Regional Revitalization" was given by Akira Morita, Director of the Next Generation Policy Institute and Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo, in which he offered profound insights into the importance of regional development.
The university's president also accompanied the students to the venue and offered words of encouragement before their presentations, providing strong support for their challenge.
Our university will continue to focus on issues facing the local community and strive to develop human resources who can tackle problems with the knowledge and experience they have gained at IUJ, as well as a global perspective.
