2025Years12Month19On Friday, the 10th, a career lecture and roundtable discussion was held at Hyogo Prefectural Miki Higashi High School, where students from our university spoke about their studies and campus life.
The speakers this time were:Global Faculty,Faculty of PsychologyAndFaculty of Health Sciences Department of NursingBelongs to3This was a valuable opportunity to convey to high school students, who are in the midst of choosing their career paths, the appeal of specialized fields and the reality of university life from the perspective of university students, who are their closest seniors.

Giving shape to the message they want to convey: Handmade presentations by students
The students had been making meticulous preparations for this day, taking time out of their busy schedules of lectures and practical training. They had been seriously considering how they could convey the excitement of academics to high school students and how they could alleviate the anxieties they themselves had in high school, and had created their own slides that were easy to understand visually.
The students' individuality shines through in the materials they enthusiastically compiled, which covered their research topics, their everyday student life, and the original experiences that led them to choose that career path.

A passionate discussion filled with serious looks
In the first part of the general presentations, student representatives from each faculty gave explanations about their respective fields of expertise. It is a rare opportunity for high school students to hear about their experiences directly from current university students. Every student listened intently to the very end, not missing a single word, as they spoke about things like their study abroad experiences, the significance of studying psychology, and the Global Nursing major. Their eagerness to take notes conveyed their strong desire to apply the words of their seniors to their own futures.
The second part of the event, a roundtable discussion, saw the students engage in a more intimate exchange. The high school students asked a wide range of questions, from specific study methods to the joys of campus life, and the students responded with thoughtful, down-to-earth advice based on their own experiences. The words of alumni who are walking the path of the future, different from what they might hear from teachers or adults, seemed to resonate deeply with the students.

The current status of university students can help broaden the future for high school students
This attempt, in which the university students spoke of "ongoing learning," helped to broaden the options available to high school students who were about to choose their career paths. The students gained a concrete image of university not just as a place to go to college, but as a place to pursue their interests and grow as individuals.
At the same time, for our students, the opportunity to reflect on their own progress and share it with others was a valuable experience that allowed them to reaffirm their own learning and build their confidence.
Kansai University of International Studies will continue to strongly support the career development of high school students who will lead the next generation through such face-to-face collaborations.
