Our university's student disaster prevention club "KUISs BOSAI" is the Reiwa7At the "Disaster Prevention Koshien" (sponsored by the Hyogo Prefectural Council for the Promotion of Safety Day), we received the Habatan Award.2026Years1Month24The award ceremony was held on Saturday, the 10th at the Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution (Kobe City), where the winning students received their awards.
The Disaster Prevention Koshien aims to pass on the experiences and lessons learned from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake to future generations, and honors nationwide efforts on the theme of disaster prevention and mitigation. It also serves as an important opportunity to widely disseminate youth-led activities to society.
This year,KUISs BOSAIThe group's ongoing volunteer support activities in the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake were highly praised, leading to the group receiving the Habatan Award. The group's meticulous efforts, which only students can undertake, such as local reconstruction support activities, needs assessments (listening activities), and event planning at evacuation shelters, were highly praised.
A representative student who attended the award ceremony commented as follows:
"We have received support from many people through various activities, including support for the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake. We owe this award to all of those connections. We will continue to expand our activities from a student's perspective, with the theme of 'making disaster prevention more accessible.'"
Kansai University of International Studies aims to "cultivate human resources who can manage a safe and secure society," and will continue to actively support student-led disaster prevention and mitigation activities, promoting practical education that contributes to the safety and security of the local community.
