How can you utilize the strengths of your athletes?
Kansai International University offers a variety of pre-enrollment education programs to ensure a smooth transition from high school to university.
One of these programs, the pre-enrollment schooling program, is called "Warm-up Learning."This year, on February 10th, I will be joining the Faculty of Business Administration at the Miki Campus.
It started with the "Sports and Learning Program for Student Athletes" aimed at students planning to join the intensive clubs (baseball, soccer, and tennis).
In the morning, club leaders and faculty members gave talks on how to prepare for university life and how to use their experiences as athletes in their studies at university.
There was a lecture.
In addition, senior students shared their experiences in class, extracurricular activities such as applying to off-campus business contests and volunteering during disasters, taking teacher training courses,
They talked about what they learned through practicing both academics and sports, including job hunting.
In the afternoon, after a speech from President Hamana, the students participated in a seminar-style class in which they read assigned books and discussed them in groups, giving them a taste of university learning.
Surveys of participants revealed that the program helped them to utilize their strengths as student athletes in their studies and to not be passive about learning.
It seemed that the students realized the need to learn independently and the importance of approaching their studies in a planned manner from their first year.

In March, "warm-up learning" will be held for all departments on all campuses.
"Warm-up learning" is a program that allows students to experience university classes and campus life before enrolling. As a general rule, students must participate face-to-face at the campus they plan to belong to. We offer a variety of programs, including communication work to help you get to know new students and seniors, and seminar-style classes to experience university classes.
Eligible participants will be contacted by mail or email, so please follow the instructions to apply for participation and submit assignments.
