Read the post-corona world ー The world seen in the Financial Times ー

 The global outbreak of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), the so-called “pandemic,” has taken over the world, and the threat has not gone away yet.Also, the effects of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine have led to political, economic, social and cultural changes in many parts of the world.
 In this course, students will read the latest articles in the original text (in English) from the Financial Times, a British economic newspaper, and discuss world affairs with students. It is a practical course that is very useful for improving TOEFL and TOEIC scores.

Yorizumi Watanabe(Professor, Kansai University of International Studies / Dean of the Faculty of International Communication)

Graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Letters, Sophia University in March 1976. Studied at the College of Europe (economics major) as an exchange student from the Belgian government.In 3, he completed the doctoral program at Sophia University, specializing in international relations.Professional experience: 1990-1985 Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Geneva (Specialist Researcher), 1988-1988 Customs and Tariff Department, GATT Secretariat (Economic Affairs Officer), 1990-1990 Nanzan University Economics Department (Associate Professor) , 1995-1995 Permanent Mission of Japan to the European Union (Expert Researcher), 1998-1998 Professor, Faculty of Comparative Culture, Otsuma Women's University, 2002-2002 Counselor, Economic Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 2004 ~ 2005 Keio University Faculty of Policy Management (Professor), current position from April 2019, Keio University Emeritus Professor. Since April 2019, he has been a corporate auditor of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation.
