Thinking about SDGs from Tamba-fu

Lecture & touch on Tamba cloth (workshop)

Why don't you actually touch Tanba-fu, which is a national intangible cultural property and a traditional craft of Hyogo Prefecture?

“SDGs” may sound a little difficult, but traditional crafts use local resources as much as necessary, and based on that, techniques and manufacturing methods are inherited, and many processes are done by hand. There is a deep connection with the goals of the SDGs from the beginning, such as not using energy such as electricity.Do you want to learn while doing a workshop?

service learning

"Regional Revitalization Project with Miki City and Tamba City as Fields"

In March 2014, we concluded a university-wide comprehensive partnership agreement with Tamba City, triggered by volunteer support for reconstruction after the heavy rain disaster in 2019.This year as well, the students visited the site, learned about the characteristics of the region, touched on the specialty products and the thoughts of the creators, and realized new experiences and awareness as a "regional revitalization project".Based on this experience, we are doing various activities to let the general public know about "Tamba-fu".

What is service learning

Participate in the process of resolving life and social issues in the local community, and learn academic systems, own values, and citizenship through collaboration with people with diverse social and cultural backgrounds. It is a learning method that nurtures sexuality. The knowledge and skills acquired through the experience through the opportunity to reflect on new values will be deepened and developed into the next learning.
