With the guidance of enthusiastic teachers, my TOEIC® score increased by more than 1 points in just one year!

Faculty of International Communication Department of English Communication * 2020

Mr. Takahiro Maeijo (Graduated from Matsuyama Seiryo High School)

In high school, I left my parents in Okinawa to play baseball and lived in a dormitory in Ehime.Since I was the captain of a club, I met a lot of people and got a lot of inspiration. At university, I wanted to expand my exchanges and communicate in English, so I entered Kansai University of International Studies, which has a rich study abroad program.I was worried at first because I entered the school not because I can speak English, but because I like English and want to learn it.However, the teachers gave him enthusiastic guidance without compromising, and his TOEIC® score improved by more than 1 points in one year. From now on, I would like to aim for 200 points or more, and I would like to work with the intention of getting a perfect score by the time I graduate. As someone from Okinawa, I believe that I must tell the story of the tragedy of the Battle of Okinawa.I want to improve my English so that I can communicate with foreigners, and in the future I want to work at an international organization that supports the socially vulnerable.

Studying in America is a fulfilling program. The growth and sense of accomplishment I felt with my friends!

Department of English Communication, Faculty of Education(Currently Faculty of International CommunicationDepartment of English Communication)* 2020

Miku Imaishi(Graduated from Hyogo Prefectural Itami High School)

I was good at English in high school, so I wanted to study it professionally at university. The decisive factors for my admission were the small class size and the opportunity to study abroad. The four skills of "Listening," "Writing," "Speaking," and "Reading," which are particularly important in English, are divided into three classes, and classes are conducted in groups or pairs of three or four people. In addition to being able to ask the teacher on the spot if I didn't understand something, he also carefully checked the assignments I submitted, which dramatically improved my English skills. The small class size not only strengthens the bond between the teachers, but also between the students. When I was in high school, I was the type to study alone, but I learned that by teaching each other with friends and tackling issues together, we could understand each other more quickly and grow together. The study abroad I was looking forward to was participating in a program called "teaching Japanese" at a university in Salt Lake, USA.The daily life of forming a group of students from the same department and providing guidance, holding a reflection meeting at the end of the day, and going to class again was fulfilling because of the presence of my friends. In the future, I would like to use the techniques I learned from a teacher who is strong in TOEIC® preparation to further improve my score and use them as strengths in my job hunting.

Faculty of Human Sciences, Department of Human Psychology (Currently Faculty of Psychology, Department of Psychology)* 2020

Yuna MatsumuraSan(Graduated from Hyogo Prefectural Aboshi High School)

A drama I saw when I was in high school made me want to study criminal psychology.I decided to enroll at this university because I heard that I could learn from people who know everything about the field, including a teacher who is researching polygraphs (lie detectors) and a teacher who was a former police officer. From classes such as social psychology that can be used in everyday life to classes such as disaster psychology that are not common at other universities, psychology is a broad and fulfilling area of learning, and it is specialized and interpersonal. You can also acquire skills.I wanted to become a legal technical officer, so I took clinical psychology in addition to criminal psychology. In the future, I would like to face juveniles who committed crimes and find out the real reason why they committed crimes through interviews based on psychology. This university accepts each person's ideas and develops them as individuality, so I have become more confident in myself. Before, I was not good at standing in front of people, but when I was in charge of the university festival, I was able to actively express my opinions in front of everyone, and I was able to notice a side of myself that I didn't know.I am really glad that I chose this university because I could feel my growth through classes and events.

When I participated in the open campus, I visited the Nursing Practical Training Building where I could acquire nursing skills in an environment close to clinical practice, recreating a hospital room and simulating my own home. thought. One of the reasons I wanted to become a midwife was that I wanted to be a nationally certified nurse as well as a midwife. In cooperation with the Kita-Harima General Medical Center, which provides highly advanced medical care in the region, you can also receive lectures based on the experience of active doctors and nurses.Preparations for national exams begin in the first year, and classes are also provided in which specialist outside instructors are invited to help students overcome their weak points. Moeko Nagai (from Hyogo Prefectural Kakogawa Nishi High School)

Sociology deals with a variety of phenomena both in Japan and abroad, and because it is connected to various fields, it is a field of study in which you can make the most of your own interests. In my case, I was worried about the decline of the shopping street on the way to school. Therefore, with the theme of revitalizing "Shutter Street", not only one store but also closed stores are used at once to open a study space for students, a temporary nursery school for children, a cafe where mom friends gather, etc. I put together a plan to liven up the whole area, and when I applied for an off-campus contest, I received an award for excellence. In addition, I am participating in a student project based on a proposal from my seminar teacher, and I am producing a magazine with the aim of revitalizing the university and its surrounding areas. As I gained various experiences at this university, I realized that I like to come up with ideas and send out ideas. After graduation, I would like to find a job where I can make use of my ideas and contribute to society.

Faculty of Contemporary Society, Department of Comprehensive Sociology (currently Faculty of Sociology, Department of Sociology)* 2020
Joichiro Mori (Graduated from Osaka Prefectural Toshima High School)

I chose this department because I can freely study the four specialized fields of "Sociology/Media," "Economics/Management," "Psychology," and "Architecture/Interior" according to my interests.Classes were held in small groups, and it was also attractive that the distance between teachers and students was close.I used to be shy when I was in a crowd, but in a small group it was easier for me to express my individuality, and before I knew it, I was able to assert myself in front of others.Currently, I am studying how to revitalize the local community in "Sociology and Media" while exploring the structure of society in "Economics and Management".I feel that I have broadened my horizons and way of thinking compared to when I was in high school, as I have become able to link multiple knowledge and education to see things from multiple perspectives. The fruits of my learning were manifested outside of school.I participated in a contest where I submitted my own ideas with the theme of improving an existing charity project. .Outside of classes, I am actively participating in student associations and volunteer staff, and I am enjoying a fulfilling university life by interacting with students from other departments.
