I enjoyed being discreetly by the students, coaching them when they asked, providing support when they needed it, and more importantly witnessing their incredible ''growth." I always made sure we had short daily meetings to stay connected and share the impressions of the day.

The content related to the food culture deeply influenced my ways of understanding Japan. The understanding and practice of Omotenashi as presented in the program was for me the most valuable gift of the program. The boundaries in Japan between business and culture are so fine and porous that a business trip turns into an extraordinary cultural experience. The level of human connection and commitment in business relationships seems so high that it makes a Westerner rethink its entire notion of relationships in general.

The program was intense, and packed with wonderful activities, both entertaining, pedagogic, and professional. The high level of professionalism, dedication, and commitment of the organizing team, student assistants, activity hosts, tour guides, and highly skilled translator was deeply appreciated. At all times, it felt like we had the opportunity to meet with one of the best ambassadors of Japanese business culture.

Last but not least, there is one word that encapsulates my whole experience in the program: gratitude.
