I am Nguyen Thua Nho a junior from the English Department, and currently living in Nanaimo, Canada. In general, VIU, especially in the Residence, has a wonderful blueness. The nature is just breath-taking and as we expect from an island country, there are immense blue, high and rich clouds. If you live in the Residence, everything you need for your study life can be found here. The library is open 24/7 and at night it is the exact picture of a lighthouse.
Nanaimo campus is the main campus of VIU and has the richest resources you can find. It also provides an open environment which is well divided and has areas from shared computer spaces to silent study and isolated rooms for group study. There are gymnasiums which are free for students and faculty, Starbuck is open until 3pm in case you need a regular coffee and drink, or the Student Union Pub is open until midnight every Thursday. The Residence provides you with almost everything you need for a long life here. The area is equipped with a wonderful landscape, and you can study in almost every corner.
