Message from the President/Graduate School Dean

President Atsushi Hamana

Aiming to be a base for professional training in the era of 100-year lifespans

In an era called "the era of 100 years of life," Linda Gratton used the expression "LIFE SHIFT." I am pointing out that it is coming.

  • Explorer (regain knowledge, think about your life)
  • Independent Producer (engage in independent and productive activities without being hired by an organization such as freelance)
  • Portfolio Stage (Doing different activities at the same time, e.g. 3 days a week work, 1 day a week NPO activity, 1 day a week volunteer activity)

Depending on the person, it is becoming a diverse and fluid life design that goes back and forth between these three stages.

Our graduate school is a place of learning for professional explorers.Providing graduate-level education and research content that leads to the discovery and resolution of problems in actual workplaces, not only for young people aiming to become professionals, but also for those who are engaged in or have been engaged in professional occupations. I'm trying

Furthermore, in order to make it easier for people with diverse backgrounds to learn, most subjects can be taken remotely. We have made it possible for those who find it difficult to attend the interactive class by remote method.Students can study from anywhere in the country, and the upper limit on the number of years of enrollment has been relaxed, making it possible to choose a study that suits the situation of work and life.

In addition, from this academic year, the clinical pedagogy major has become a subject course designated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's education and training benefit system (professional practical education and training), making it easier to learn in terms of cost.

We welcome the beginning of a new era of 100-year lifespans, where highly specialized and useful learning and research at graduate school will become more accessible.

Would you like to contribute to society by making use of your own characteristics and expertise together?

Thank you for visiting the Graduate School of Human Behavioral Sciences page.

I was interested in this page because I was faced with various problems and challenges while working in the field of education and welfare. I think the trigger is that I want to make use of what I have learned and further improve my expertise.

Currently, there are various problems in the world such as COVID-19 (new coronavirus infection), Russia's invasion of Ukraine, suicide, bullying, hikikomori, school refusal, abuse of children and the elderly, young carers, and developmental disabilities. .In such a modern society, you may wonder what you can do and how you should live.

There are many universities and graduate schools where you can study psychology in Hyogo Prefecture. It's hard to tell the difference between those sites.I think that the subjects that can be learned, their contents, and the teachers will be the criteria for making a decision. However, I think the important thing is what and how you want to learn with autonomy. No matter how important autonomy is, humans cannot live alone. On a personal note, I had a pain in a certain part of my body, and I came to think that I could die if I could be freed from this pain.At that time, I was told by my students and acquaintances that it would be fine if I had an operation, that the doctor would do the operation, but that was only half of it, and that I needed my own strength, and that I should do my rehabilitation well.Humans are strange.People's support gives me hope.

Why don't you make the most of your own characteristics and expertise and acquire the knowledge and skills to support yourself and others by being supported by others at Kansai International University Graduate School of Human Behavioral Sciences together?

For working adults who want to deepen their studies at graduate school
