This revision requires universities and colleges of technology to clarify the image of human resources they should develop based on their own educational philosophy, organize an appropriate curriculum to realize that goal, and provide systematic and organizational support. In addition to carrying out educational activities, all universities, etc., conduct educational activities in order to better fulfill their mission by conducting admission selection to accept students who are suitable for receiving an education at the university, etc. Based on the purpose, the university will be required to formulate and publicize ``policies regarding graduation recognition'', ``policies regarding curriculum organization and implementation'', and ``policies regarding admission of new students'' (three policies).

2. Curriculum Design and Implementation Policy (Curriculum Policy)

Our university systematically organizes basic education subjects, specialized education subjects, and other necessary subjects, and provides an appropriate combination of lectures, exercises, and practical training in order to help students acquire the knowledge and skills listed in the graduation certification policy. Educational content, teaching methods, and evaluation are stipulated as follows.

1) Education content

    1. In the basic education that forms the basis of study throughout the four years, students are taught ``scientific perspectives and ways of thinking about the current situation and issues facing society, culture, and nature,'' centering on the compulsory subject ``Human Studies,'' and prepare students for university. We provide first-year education and career education to help students acquire adaptation and study skills, as well as to develop a learning plan for the future.
    2. In language education, classes are organized based on proficiency level, and progress is regularly checked using external tests, with the aim of developing communicative English skills that match the student's own learning progress.
    3. In specialized education, we will arrange subjects by academic year and semester based on required subjects, majors, and courses based on the systematicity of specialized fields.
    4. Seminar subjects are arranged in each academic year and semester, and the instructors in charge serve as advisors who advise students on their studies and daily life.
    5. At the end of the second year, students take an ``achievement confirmation exam'' to confirm that they have mastered the standards of the required specialized subjects and have acquired the basic level for completing their graduation research, and those who fail are required to take a reexamination. and ask for its passing.
    6. Graduation research in the fourth year is compulsory in order to integrate and synthesize the educational content centered on specialized education subjects.

2) Educational method

3) Educational evaluation

  1. At our university, the ability and qualifications listed in the "Graduation Accreditation Policy (Diploma Policy)" and the acquisition status of the ability to comprehensively utilize these skills are classified at the "university level," "faculty/department (degree program) level," and "individual student level."   2. University-level evaluations are based on (1) student check data from the KUISs learning benchmark, (2) aggregation of study behavior surveys, (3) results of achievement confirmation exams, and (4) grasping the results of graduation research.
  3. At the departmental level, evaluation will be based on (1) the achievement of the KUISs learning benchmark, (2) the degree of acquisition of specialized basic knowledge based on the degree of achievement of the achievement confirmation exam, (3) evaluation of graduation research, and an appropriate method determined by the department.
  4. In the educational evaluation of students, academic performance is determined by meeting the graduation requirements of the degree program specified by each department, 1) performance evaluation specified in the syllabus of each subject, 2) achievement of KUISs learning benchmarks, and 3) graduation research subjects as a compilation of learning results. This will be done comprehensively based on the evaluation.

3. Policy regarding acceptance of new students (admission policy)

In order to develop human resources as set out in our educational goals, we aim to develop students who have the goals and motivation to study at the university, the basic knowledge gained through learning and experience up to high school, and the ability to think for themselves about familiar problems and express their results. Kansai University of International Studies Policy for Evaluation of Academic Achievements (Assessment Policy)

The acquisition status of the competencies and qualifications listed in the policy regarding recognition of graduation and the ability to comprehensively utilize these skills will be evaluated using the methods listed in the evaluation of the policy regarding curriculum organization and implementation. 2. Graduation research results

Among the abilities and qualities listed in the policy regarding recognition of graduation, (6) Ability to utilize specialized knowledge and skills evaluates the learning products of graduation research subjects, which are compulsory subjects in all departments. The evaluation tool uses a rubric and is evaluated by multiple instructors. Evaluation results are aggregated by department and used for university-level and department-level evaluations.

3. Arrival confirmation test

Among the competencies and qualities listed in the policy regarding graduation certification, (6) Ability to utilize specialized knowledge and skills: Consolidation of basic specialized knowledge and skills will be evaluated by conducting an achievement confirmation test at the end of the second year. 4. Grading and credits for each subject based on comprehensive tests and reports

For each subject, grades will be evaluated using the method described in the syllabus. In addition to tests, evaluations are multifaceted and include rubric evaluations of reports and presentations, depending on the content and method of the subject. The evaluation results will be returned to the students during the reflection day, and along with their grade sheets, the progress towards their academic goals will be confirmed. Grade evaluations and earned credits are aggregated by department and used for university-level and department-level evaluations.

5. ePortfolio

We recommend that each student accumulate their experiences in classes and extracurricular activities, as well as their learning results and assignments, on an e-portfolio and review it regularly to help set goals for their next study. The accumulated learning experience and results will be summarized by the time of graduation and will be used to explain one's strengths and qualities to others.

6. Study behavior survey

We regularly conduct questionnaire surveys of students regarding their learning outcomes. Survey results will be aggregated by department and used for university-level and department-level evaluations.

II. Evaluation of education and learning support

In order to cultivate the abilities and qualities listed in the policy regarding graduation certification, we will evaluate the education and learning support provided based on the policy regarding curriculum organization and implementation using the following method.

1. Class evaluation questionnaire (mid-term and end of term)

We will conduct a survey of participants (with their names) regarding their level of understanding, satisfaction, learning goals, clarity of evaluation methods, implementation status of active learning, etc. The results of the survey at the end of the semester will be aggregated for each subject and made available to students.

2. Questionnaire survey for students

We conduct multiple types of questionnaire surveys to understand students' living conditions, study time, learning outcomes, awareness, satisfaction, etc. Questionnaire surveys are divided into multiple types depending on the content, such as target grade, implementation period, and whether or not you need to fill in your student ID number. The survey results will be used to improve education, support learning, and improve the environment.

III. Evaluation of student selection

Regarding the appropriateness of the selection of new students based on the admission policy, we will calculate the results of the basic academic ability diagnostic test, study behavior survey, GPA, standard completion rate, and dropout status by type of student selection method.
