Research activities conducted overseas

Students observe, investigate, and consider pre-established themes through group work with overseas partner universities and exchanges with students and local residents.
Through these processes, we implement programs that serve as opportunities to cultivate diverse perspectives and ways of thinking, and deepen our understanding of people around the world, ourselves, and society.

Major programs implemented so far

  • Survey on disaster mitigation measures in disaster-prone areas in Indonesia (Indonesia/Yogyakarta)
  • Study of education and culture and tourism in South Korea -Learning specialized knowledge and clarifying the future (South Korea/Seoul)
  • Field research on "crime prevention in local communities" in Yangon, Myanmar (Myanmar/Yangon)
  • Examination of Traumatic Memories of Cambodian Civil War Survivors - Utilizing Drawing Method and Qualitative Research Method - (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
  • Field research on the involvement of Japan (companies) in Vietnam's economy and society (Vietnam/Da Nang)
  • Fieldwork on crime focusing on community crime prevention and youth crime in the United States (USA/Seattle)
  • Investigation of factors for the spread of cashless payments in China and proposals for promotion methods in Japanese society (China/Shandong Province)
  • Academic achievement gap in elementary schools in Taiwan (Taiwan/Taichung)
  • Comparison of Elementary School Education (Music) in Taiwan (Taiwan/Taichung)

Overseas service learning

Social Contribution Activities Expanding Overseas

Duration: 1 to 4 weeks

Through the academic knowledge and skills learned in the classroom, and through engaging in social activities organized to solve real-world problems (in local communities and abroad), students learn what they can do in the community and develop civic responsibility. It is a program to feel and learn about social roles and social roles.The purpose of this course is to enhance students' own specialized knowledge, a sense of responsibility toward society, problem-solving skills, and communication skills.

  • Spreading Japan's "safety and security" to the world: Educational support aimed at building a better living environment (Philippines/Cebu)
  • Supporting foreign language education at a community college in the United States (Salt Lake, USA)
  • Support activities through modeling activities in after-school daycare in South Korea (Korea/Busan)
  • Activities to support Japanese language education at a partner school's Japanese language department (China/Liaoning Province)
  • Service learning for safety education and learning support in primary schools in Cambodia (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
