KUISs School of Management student, SALSABILA, achieved an impressive 2nd place finish in this year's Xavier Cup, a leading Japanese language speech contest sponsored by Sophia University.

This accomplishment follows last year's Award of Excellence which was won in the same competition by School of International Communication student, MUFTAZAR ILHAM YUDHISTIRA.

The Xavier Cup is a nationwide competition of international students attending Japanese universities. It allows participants to showcase their Japanese language ability by allowing them to speak about their experiences and dreams in Japan.

She was able to win her award with her speech entitled "My Life in 10 Years." Specifically, she talked about how she hoped to introduce to the world a rural village's coffee bean from her homeland of Indonesia. She talked about what she needed to do to become an entrepreneur, and how her success in such a business would help alleviate poverty throughout the world. As SALSABILA emphasized, her dream is to build a home full of happiness, not fancy cars or mansions.

She believes the clarity of her career goal and the concreteness of her plan proved to be the key to her success in this speech contest. She also believes that the hard work she put in to revise and practice the speech many times also helped her performance.

She hopes to realize the dream she described through slow and steady effort every day!
