Kansai University of International Studies has been selected for the "Inter-University Exchange Project" by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for two consecutive years.
Kansai University of International Studies has been selected for the FY2023 University Education Revitalization Strategy Promotion Fund, "Inter-University Exchange Project - Support for the formation of exchanges between universities with the United States and other countries - " by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Kansai University of International Studies is the first private university that has been selected for two consecutive years as a leader of the project since 2015.

| Project Aim | We will present an international collaborative education programme using COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning), with the core issues of our program being the construction of a safe and secure social infrastructure through tourism hospitality, disaster prevention, and crime prevention. Participating students will also learn fundamental themes such as data science suited to the AI-era, which they will utilize in the SSHM (Safety and Security & Hospitality Management) international collaboration program. Both the tourism hospitality and disaster / crime prevention fields are areas where both Japan and the United States are facing a shortage of human resources and the need for more sophisticated and digital operations. There is a need to cultivate human resources with a global perspective and entrepreneurial spirit. Through collaboration between industries, government, and academia, including university networks, we will develop international programs targeting a wide range of students. |

What is the Inter-University Exchange Project?
The Inter-University Exchange Project initiative, aimed to nurture global human resources who aim to work on the international stage and strengthen the global development of university education while assuring the quality of higher education is a series of projects launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in FY2011 for the purpose of providing financial support for efforts on the formation of collaborative programs with universities in designated countries and regions that conduct study abroad programs for Japanese students and accepting foreign students. The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science has established the Inter-University Exchange Project Program Committee to conduct the screening and evaluation for the Project.
