【Gコミ学科】KUISs students to study abroad in Malaysia this Fall!

For more than two-years, the world stopped as the coronavirus stopped international travel. Many English Communication students were not able to travel overseas. With the development of effective vaccines and health precautions, however, it is now possible for KUISs students to study overseas!

With its advanced society and economy, English fluency, and excellent exchange partners, Malaysia has become particularly attractive to our student in the English Communication department. This fall semester, 10 sophomore KUISs students will study at three of the leading universities in the country: Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman ; Universiti Utara Malaysia and the Management and Science University in Selangor. Through KUISs' exchange agreements with these partners, English Communications students will spend a semester abroad taking subject coursework in English and learning the Malay language. Our students will also pursue an independent study project that integrates issues related to their study abroad destination and broader departmental themes of intercultural communication, global tourism, international relations, or SDGs.

All three partner universities are located near Malaysia's capital of Kuala Lumpur and other well-known cultural sites. Students will experience the dynamism and energy of Malaysia first-hand. KUISs students have been preparing for this trip for many months. In one writing class, students even wrote essays where they investigated the best ways to make Malaysian friends so as to make the most out of their study abroad.

KUISs students are once again eager to travel and learn about the world!
