During the lunch break and the third period on Wednesday, June 28, the event was held both at the Kobe Yamate and Amagasaki campuses. International students and Japanese students interacted casually and had fun while eating hot dogs.

The event was held with a slogan of "Let's deepen exchanges between international students and Japanese students! No worries, you are not alone!" Many international students including exchange students and Japanese students participated in the event this year.

Students are allowed to speak only Japanese in the Q&A game which is question cards were taken out of the question box and asked and answered with each other. It was a very exciting game and students were enjoyed it. If you missed the event this time, please join us next time and make friends beyond your nationality.

In the future, a new circle will be established for the purpose of exchange between international students and Japanese students. We would like to continue to promote exchanges in the future. Don't miss the upcoming activities!

Comment from Moe Nishida (2nd year, Faculty of Education, Department of Education and Welfare)

I participated in the event for the first time with an introduction from my advisor, Professor Baba. I have been interested in overseas since I was a high school student. One of the reasons I enrolled in Kansai University of International Studies is that when I came to the open campus, I found there would be many opportunities to interact with international students on campus and it has the global study program.

This is my first time to interact with international students and through this event I realized that the Japanese and Chinese languages are similar and there are many things that we can understand each other more than English. Also I felt I want to work harder on my English. The information of "Buddy System for International Students" was shared at the event and I am looking forward to interacting with international students more in the future.

Comment from Wu Lin (3rd year, Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Business Administration)

Since I entered Kansai University of International Studies as a transfer student during the Covid-19 pandemic, I have had few opportunities to interact directly with Japanese students. It was my first time to participate in such an event and I was very happy. I was able to share various topics with Japanese students and communicate with them. I would like to participate in an event like this again.

Comment from Maho Fujimoto

(Yamate campus public relations student staff, 4th year, Faculty of International Communication, Department of English Communication)

I participated in a lively event for the first time in a long time beyond the Covid-19 pandemic. I learned that international students of various nationalities belong to each faculty, and it was a very meaningful event while there is usually little interaction between faculties. I hope that this event will expand a network of students and connect with each other for both students who have always been good friends and students who will start interacting with each other through this event. In fact, I belong to the Department of English Communication, so there are many classes with international students. I got a lot of help from international students and they also asked me if there was anything they didn't understand about Japan. International exchange as well as improving ourselves through friendly rivalry with students from different countries in university life will be a very good experience. I hope that our horizons and possibilities will expand more and more in our student life.
